Javelin Direct, an Omnicom strategic integrated marketing agency, has named Jim Newell Associate Creative Director, responsible for managing branding and marketing for Roche ACCU-CHEK(R) products and Spear Cosmetics. Based in Javelin Direct's New York City office, Newell reports directly to Joel Sobelson, Vice President, Group Creative Director.

Newell brings 20 years of direct marketing experience to the position. Prior to Javelin Direct, he worked at Rapp Collins for 13 years as Vice President, Group Creative Director, where he oversaw all direct marketing for Mercedes-Benz, creating its first relationship marketing program, as well as launching its premium luxury brand Maybach Motors.

Newell has had his work featured in numerous publications such as Forbes magazine and college textbooks. He has also lectured at the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) and taught marketing classes at New York University.
