State Farm was found by Mr George J. Mecherle in 1922. State Farm was specifically made for farmers as they drove less and had fewer losses than those living in cities. California established the company's first branch office. This office helped a lot supporting the agents and getting service closer to the customer. The Berkeley office today, has many operation centers in around 10 zones. It has more than 79,000 employees and many agents servicing huge number of policies in the United States and Canada. In just over 80 years, state farm insurance company has grown from a small farm insurer to one of the world's largest financial institutions.
