Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) announced today that it has won a blanket purchase agreement (BPA) to provide technical support and consulting services at Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) centers across the United States. CSC estimates the value of the contract to be $250 million over five years.
This BPA follows and is separate from a similar agreement signed with the DFAS in January 2002.
Under the terms of the new agreement, CSC will continue providing a comprehensive range of information technology (IT) and technical support services to help the DFAS achieve its transformation objectives. Services include project management; equipment maintenance; software development and maintenance; data warehouse development and management; systems integration; and financial management and economic analysis.
"CSC is pleased to extend its more than 15 years of support to the DFAS under this vehicle," said James W. Sheaffer, president of CSC's North American Public Sector (formerly Federal Sector) business unit. "We look forward to leveraging our Department of Defense experience with our technical expertise to deliver sound operational results to the DFAS."
Teaming with CSC are 27 large and small companies that have experience and background in DFAS systems, financial services, accounting and transformation.
